approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZETA holders are currently voting on Governance Proposal 2, which outlines the token conversion process, holder protections, the planned shutdown of the existing blockchain, and the launch of a new private AI platform called ZetaLabs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting is scheduled to close on November 7 at 16:12 UTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the proposal passes, native ZETA balances on ZetaChain would be converted into Solana-based tokens at a 1:1 ratio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ZetaChain opens 72-hour governance vote<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaChain announced the migration proposal on November 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Governance Proposal 2, ZetaChain plans to record token balances at block 20,755,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project expects that block to arrive around December 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At that point, the snapshot would capture:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Liquid ZETA ZETA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ZETA would migrate to Solana at a 1:1 ratio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ZetaChain Foundation plans to mint an equivalent amount of ZETA on Solana using the SPL token standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The migration is designed to preserve the existing token supply rather than create additional ZETA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each eligible native ZETA would therefore be matched with one Solana-based ZETA token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the migration supply has been minted, the foundation plans to revoke its minting authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Solana token would use nine decimal places and would not include a freeze authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This would prevent the foundation from creating additional tokens after the initial migration process is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Existing ERC-20 ZETA would remain unchanged<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every form of ZETA is included in the migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZETA already issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token is expected to remain unaffected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal focuses on native ZETA currently held on ZetaChain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means holders should understand which version of the token they own before preparing for the migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The claim process and requirements can differ depending on where the tokens are currently held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is ZetaChain leaving its Layer 1?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed move follows earlier discussions about the cost and complexity of operating an independent blockchain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Running a separate Layer 1 requires ongoing validator coordination, network security, software maintenance, and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p to smaller balances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wallets holding fewer than 10 ZETA at the snapshot would not qualify for the individual claim process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This minimum balance means users with small holdings may need to review alternative arrangements announced by the project or their exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaChain has not indicated that wallets below the threshold can simply combine balances after the snapshot to qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The recorded snapshot balance will determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exchange-held ZETA will follow exchange conversion rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users who keep ZETA on centralized exchanges will not necessarily use the ZetaHub claim portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, exchanges are expected to manage the conversion process for their customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each exchange will need to publish its own schedule and instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users holding ZETA on an exchange should therefore monitor announcements from that platform rather than assuming they need to move tokens into a personal wallet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staked ZETA does not need to be withdrawn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users with staked or unbonding ZETA are not expected to take additional action before the snapshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal states that staked balances, tokens already in the unbonding process, and accumulated staking rewards will be included automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means users should not need to unstake simply to qualify for the migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their recorded balances will be included when the chain reaches the designated snapshot block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Liquidity pool users may need to exit before the snapshot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The situation is different for ZETA held inside smart contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tokens in liquidity pools or wrapped-token contracts may not be directly associated with an individual wallet in a way the claim portal can recognize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaChain has therefore advised users to exit those positions before the snapshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If users leave their ZETA locked inside a liquidity pool contract, they may be unable to claim through the normal individual process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This makes the location of a user\u2019s tokens especially important ahead of December 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ZRC-20 assets will follow separate recovery rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assets represented on ZetaChain as ZRC-20 tokens will also be affected by the shutdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the proposal, these assets may become eligible for claims on their original blockchain networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is a minimum value threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal sets a minimum claim value of $5 per token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users holding very small ZRC-20 balances may therefore fall below the recovery threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hacken is reviewing the migration portal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaChain says security firm Hacken is reviewing the migration portal and supporting program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The claim portal is expected to open only after the security review is completed and the findings are published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is particularly important because migration events often attract phishing attempts and fake claim websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaChain has warned users to rely only on official channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project has also reminded holders that they should never provide a seed phrase or recovery phrase during the migration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ZetaChain plans to burn around 55 million ZETA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal also includes a substantial token burn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 55 million ZETA previously allocated to future validator rewards would be removed from supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because the Layer 1 would no longer operate, those undistributed validator incentives would no longer be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The burn is planned to take place through 12 monthly transactions during 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each transaction would remove roughly 4.6 million ZETA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final total could change slightly depending on how many validator rewards have already been distributed when the blockchain stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Validator inflation would end with the Layer 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the existing blockchain shuts down, future validator inflation associated with ZetaChain\u2019s current consensus system would also end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That would change the token\u2019s future supply dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project\u2019s maximum supply would effectively be reduced by the amount of undistributed validator rewards that are burned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This makes the migration not only a technical change but also a significant adjustment to ZETA\u2019s tokenomics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contributor and purchaser vesting ends in January 2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal comes as other token unlock schedules approach completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vesting for purchasers and core contributors is scheduled to finish on January 1, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The foundation has also said it will not sell newly released tokens from certain foundation-controlled allocations during 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commitment is separate from the planned burn but could influence circulating supply during the migration year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ZetaLabs will launch alongside the Solana migration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the main reasons for the strategic shift is ZetaLabs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project plans to launch the private AI application on December 9 if the migration proceeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ZetaLabs builds on Anuma Chat, which ZetaChain says has been running since February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The platform is designed to combine AI models, live financial market information, and encrypted user data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
