Garantex emerged as its largest sanctioned counterparty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the findings, Cryptomus received more than $204 million from Garantex-linked activity and transferred approximately $101 million to the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blockchain records showed that this wallet had received approximately $146.3 million from 126 TokenSpot deposit addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators also identified six TRON blockchain addresses attributed to both exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another address appeared to collect remaining TRX balances used to cover blockchain transaction fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The platforms also reported service interruptions within minutes of each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On April 15, Grinex announced technical difficulties, while TokenSpot notified customers about maintenance approximately 25 minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TRM Labs described these findings as strong evidence of a close operational relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TokenSpot Transactions With Sanctioned Networks Exceed $950 Million<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Blockchain records examined by TRM Labs revealed substantial cryptocurrency flows involving TokenSpot and previously sanctioned financial networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Between December 8, 2023, and September 27, 2026, TokenSpot-associated TRON addresses received approximately $3.54 billion and sent around $3.14 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The A7 financial network was identified as TokenSpot’s largest external counterparty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to investigators, TokenSpot transferred approximately $679.5 million to A7 and received $48.5 million in return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An additional $26.5 million was sent directly to the A7A5 token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TokenSpot was also linked to significant transactions involving Garantex and Grinex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following UK sanctions against those exchanges, TokenSpot reportedly transferred $269.2 million to the two platforms and received another $285.7 million from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In total, TRM Labs calculated that TokenSpot had transferred more than $950 million to A7, Garantex, and Grinex combined<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe findings strengthened concerns about cryptocurrency networks potentially being used to maintain financial connections with sanctioned Russian businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Processing KG was separately designated over business activities considered economically significant to the Russian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UK records identify the Kyrgyz Ministry of Finance as the company’s parent organization and associate it with websites including processing-kg.com and vexpay.net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company’s director, Ulan Arymbaevich Bukabaev, was also sanctioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An earlier Financial Times investigation reported that representatives connected to the A7 network had presented VexPay to Kyrgyz officials in 2025 as a potential alternative to the SWIFT international banking messaging system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
