savings, payments, transfers, and everyday spending easier for users across selected markets.

The new app allows customers to fund their accounts using more than 50 supported currencies, which can then be converted into dollar-backed stablecoins including USDG, USDC, and USDT.

Eligible users can also access stablecoin rewards, virtual and physical payment cards, and international transfers through the same platform.

OKX says the product is aimed not only at existing crypto users but also at people who have little or no previous experience with digital assets.

OKX Money combines stablecoin savings, transfers, payments, and card spending in one standalone app.

Users can fund their accounts using more than 50 supported currencies.

Customers can hold USDG, USDC, and USDT balances.

Eligible USDG balances can earn rewards of up to 10% APY without staking or fixed lockup periods.

OKX says eligible card purchases come with zero foreign exchange fees and can earn cashback.

The initial rollout covers selected markets across Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.

OKX has not yet published a complete list of countries where every feature is available.

According to OKX, the Oct. 6 launch brings stablecoin balances, global transfers, cards, and rewards together within a single product.

The company is specifically targeting users who may not consider themselves traditional cryptocurrency customers.

OKX estimates that around 70% of the audience it hopes to reach has never previously used a crypto application.

The initial rollout covers parts of Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East.

However, OKX has not published a full list of participating countries.

The company says availability will expand gradually depending on local laws, regulatory requirements, and the legal entities through which OKX operates in each market.

OKX Money turns local currencies into stablecoins

One of the central features of OKX Money is the ability to fund an account using more than 50 supported currencies.

Once money is deposited, users can convert their funds into dollar-backed stablecoins.

The platform currently supports USDG, USDC, and USDT.

OKX says customers can also move between supported stablecoins without paying conversion fees.

This creates a single balance system that can be used for saving, payments, transfers, and card spending.

Existing OKX customers can sign into OKX Money using their current account credentials.

New users must register and complete identity verification before adding or transferring funds.

Some services remain dependent on the user’s location.

Local-currency funding methods and card availability, for example, may differ from one country to another.

Transfers inside OKX Money are promoted as fee-free

OKX says users can send supported stablecoins through OKX Money without paying transfer fees.

The app includes a dedicated payments section that can be used to send money to friends, businesses, or other supported recipients.

An activity page allows customers to review transfers, card purchases, and rewards from one place.

The new product builds on OKX’s earlier push into stablecoin payments.

In April 2025, the company introduced OKX Pay, a self-custodial payments service that allowed users to send USDT and USDC without transaction fees.

OKX Money takes that strategy further by combining stablecoin payments with savings, rewards, cards, and local-currency funding inside a single app.

The 10% USDG APY is not available to everyone

One of the most prominent features of OKX Money is its USDG rewards program.

Eligible customers can earn up to 10% APY on qualifying USDG balances.

Unlike some crypto yield products, OKX says users do not need to stake their tokens or lock their balance for a fixed period.

Rewards are paid weekly, while qualifying funds remain available for spending.

However, the headline 10% rate does not automatically apply to every customer.

Eligibility can depend on several factors.

According to an OKX spokesperson, those factors may include a user’s average deposit balance over the previous 30 days, spending activity during the same period, or their OKX exchange VIP level.

Reward rates may therefore vary between customers and regions.

OKX has not disclosed how the maximum yield is funded

OKX has not publicly provided a detailed explanation of how the highest OKX Money reward rate is financed.

When asked about the funding source behind the advertised maximum yield, a company spokesperson declined to provide additional details.

That means users should distinguish between the rewards offered by OKX and the underlying backing of USDG itself.

USDG is issued by Paxos.

According to Paxos, the stablecoin is backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. government securities, and other cash equivalents.

USDG is also designed to be redeemable for U.S. dollars.

Paxos Digital Singapore operates under the supervision of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

The stablecoin’s reserve backing and the APY offered through OKX Money are therefore separate concepts.

The reserves are designed to support USDG’s dollar value, while the additional rewards are part of OKX’s product economics.

Paxos uses a network-based economic model for USDG

Paxos operates USDG through its Global Dollar Network.

The network uses an economic model that allows participating companies to share in some of the benefits generated through USDG adoption and activity.

Paxos has previously described the model as rewarding partners based on their role in supporting and expanding the stablecoin ecosystem.

OKX already offers other USDG reward programs.

Terms published for OKX Pay in March 2026 used different reward rates depending on customers’ VIP levels.

Under those terms, users at VIP 3 or higher could receive rates of up to 10% on the first $10,000, while lower VIP tiers received different rates.

The Oct. 6 OKX Money announcement similarly makes clear that rates, features, and eligibility can vary depending on location and customer status.

OKX Money cards promise zero foreign exchange fees

OKX Money also includes virtual and physical payment cards for eligible customers.

The company says card purchases made in foreign currencies carry zero foreign exchange fees and no additional conversion markup.

Qualifying purchases may also earn cashback rewards of up to 10%.

The cards are intended to be used online and at physical merchants wherever Mastercard is accepted, subject to regional availability.

Users can manage their cards directly through the OKX Money app.

Available controls include spending management and transaction history.

However, the maximum cashback rate is not guaranteed for every purchase.

OKX describes the 10% figure as applying to eligible spending, while specific cashback rates and requirements can differ between markets.

The company has not introduced one universal cashback schedule that applies to all OKX Money customers worldwide.

Card availability depends on local regulations

OKX has previously launched stablecoin-linked card services in Europe.

Earlier in 2026, the company introduced OKX Pay and a Mastercard-linked card for European customers.

That service allowed stablecoin balances to be converted for regular purchases under OKX’s European regulatory setup.

OKX Money is targeting a different group of regions.

As a result, its card services, funding methods, and payment features are being introduced according to the regulatory requirements of individual markets.

The fact that OKX operates its exchange in a country does not automatically mean every OKX Money feature will also be available there.

Stablecoin payments continue to grow globally

The launch comes as stablecoins are playing a larger role in international payments, remittances, savings, and business transactions.

Chainalysis reported that cross-border stablecoin flows reached approximately $220.3 billion during the 12 months ending in June 2026.

That represented growth of around 77.5% compared with the previous period.

Monthly cross-border stablecoin volume reportedly increased from approximately $11 billion in January 2025 to $24 billion by June 2026.

The average cross-border stablecoin transfer was close to $3,000.

That transaction size is consistent with common uses such as supplier payments, remittances, business settlements, and moving savings into dollar-linked assets.

Chainalysis also noted that its measurement excludes transactions where either side cannot be linked to a specific country.

As a result, the company considers the $220.3 billion figure a conservative estimate.

Africa is becoming an important stablecoin market

Stablecoin adoption has been increasing across parts of Africa, particularly where businesses face difficulties accessing dollars or dealing with slow international banking systems.

Companies have cited several reasons for using stablecoins, including supplier payments, faster settlements, and access to dollar-denominated assets.

For businesses that would otherwise wait several days for traditional bank transfers, stablecoins can potentially provide faster settlement.

This makes regions with expensive or inefficient international payment systems particularly relevant to OKX Money’s expansion strategy.

Latin America shows similar adoption trends

Latin America has also emerged as a major market for dollar-backed digital assets.

According to previous reporting, dollar-pegged stablecoins accounted for around 40% of cryptocurrency purchases on Bitso during 2025.

Bitcoin represented approximately 18% during the same period.

The difference shows how some users increasingly treat stablecoins as practical financial tools rather than purely speculative assets.

They can be used to preserve dollar exposure, make payments, move money across borders, or settle business transactions.

OKX appears to be positioning OKX Money around those everyday use cases.

OKX is targeting users beyond traditional crypto traders

A notable part of the OKX Money strategy is its focus on customers who may not consider themselves cryptocurrency investors.

Rather than presenting the product primarily as a trading platform, OKX is positioning it around familiar financial activities.

Users can save money, send funds, receive payments, spend through a card, and potentially earn rewards.

Stablecoins operate underneath those services, but the app is designed to make those digital assets function more like everyday money.

That approach could make stablecoins more accessible to people who find conventional cryptocurrency exchanges too technical or complicated.

It also reflects a broader industry trend in which crypto companies are increasingly building products that resemble digital banking or fintech applications.

OKX plans to expand one market at a time

OKX has not provided a public timetable for launching OKX Money across every country within its target regions.

Instead, the company says expansion will happen market by market.

It plans to review product performance, customer support requirements, legal frameworks, and regulatory conditions before adding new jurisdictions.

The launch announcement also makes clear that features and reward rates may differ depending on location.

Some customers may have access to stablecoin balances but not cards.

Others may have different funding methods, rewards, or eligibility requirements.

Customers must complete identity verification before OKX determines which OKX Money services are available in their location.

Regulatory coverage will shape the rollout

According to OKX’s Oct. 6 announcement, the company currently operates through licensing frameworks in more than 30 jurisdictions.

That regulatory footprint could help support the broader rollout of OKX Money.

However, financial services involving cards, stablecoins, rewards, and local-currency deposits are regulated differently across countries.

OKX therefore says it will only introduce products where they can operate under the relevant local framework.

This means the rollout is likely to remain uneven for some time.

Customers in different countries may see different versions of the same OKX Money app depending on local requirements.

OKX Money brings several stablecoin services into one product

The most significant aspect of OKX Money is not any single feature.

It is the combination of services that were previously often offered separately.

Users can potentially fund an account using their local currency, convert that balance into dollar-backed stablecoins, earn rewards, send money internationally, and spend through a card without leaving the same application.

For users in countries where access to U.S. dollars or international payments is difficult, that model could be especially attractive.

Still, several important limitations remain.

The advertised 10% USDG APY applies only to qualifying users.

Cashback rewards depend on eligibility.

Card access varies by region.

OKX has not published a complete list of participating countries, and it has not disclosed how the maximum USDG reward rate is funded.

Those details will matter as OKX expands the product.

For now, OKX Money represents another step toward turning stablecoins from assets primarily associated with crypto trading into tools for everyday saving, spending, and international payments.

<p
