Hyperliquid price is trading close to a critical resistance level after pulling back from its recent all-time high. HYPE was hovering around $81 on Sept. 2 after reaching a record $86.71 on Aug. 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although short-term momentum has cooled, the broader technical structure remains bullish. Key indicators suggest that buyers are still active, while the $78\u2013$80 region has emerged as an important support zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If HYPE can reclaim the $85 area and break decisively above $86.71, the next major target could sit near $95.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HYPE was trading around $81.14 at the time of writing, down approximately 2% on the day. The token has declined about 6.4% from its $86.71 record high but remains significantly above the levels seen before its August breakout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the daily chart, Hyperliquid price has been moving mainly between $80 and $85 following a strong rally from the $55\u2013$60 region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Buyers have repeatedly stepped in near the lower end of this range. However, attempts to establish a stronger position above $84 have faced selling pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the recent pullback, HYPE’s broader bullish structure remains intact. The token continues to maintain a pattern of higher highs and higher lows on the daily timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tight consolidation near record levels suggests that traders may be waiting for a clearer signal before committing to the next major move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The price consolidation comes as Hyperliquid Strategies continues expanding its financial capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company recently increased the limit of its equity purchase facility with Chardan Capital Markets from $1 billion to $2.5 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funds raised through the facility may be used for general corporate purposes as well as additional purchases of HYPE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the expanded facility should not be interpreted as an immediate $2.5 billion investment into the token. Instead, it provides the company with greater flexibility to increase its HYPE holdings over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hyperliquid Strategies previously reported holding approximately 29.3 million HYPE at the end of its 2026 fiscal year. This was considerably higher than its initial treasury position of 12.5 million tokens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of June 30, the company’s HYPE holdings were valued at roughly $1.9 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This growing institutional treasury could provide a supportive narrative for HYPE, although token supply remains an important factor for investors to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A scheduled token release on Aug. 29 involved approximately 14.18 million HYPE, representing about 1.4% of the token’s maximum supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At prices near HYPE’s record high, those tokens were worth roughly $1.2 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the significant unlock, Hyperliquid price managed to remain above $80 afterward. This suggests that the additional supply did not immediately overwhelm market demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Token unlocks do not automatically mean that newly released tokens will be sold. Still, future unlock events could increase volatility, particularly if large distributions coincide with weaker market conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 4-hour technical setup continues to favor buyers as long as HYPE remains above an important support area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Supertrend indicator currently places dynamic support near $78.98.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holding above this level would preserve the short-term bullish structure and keep the $84\u2013$86.71 resistance range within reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chaikin Money Flow is also slightly positive at 0.06. This suggests that buying pressure currently remains stronger than selling pressure, although capital inflows are not particularly aggressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the indicator falls below zero, it could signal increasing distribution and add pressure to the current consolidation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The daily Bollinger Bands provide another important perspective on the Hyperliquid price outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HYPE remains above the Bollinger Band midpoint near $74.36, while the lower band sits around $53.91.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The wide gap between the bands reflects the sharp increase in volatility that accompanied HYPE’s August rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the daily Relative Strength Index has cooled to approximately 62.80 after previously entering overbought territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The RSI has also dropped below its moving average of 72.92, indicating that bullish momentum has weakened compared with the peak of the rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, cooling momentum does not automatically signal a bearish reversal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As long as HYPE remains comfortably above the Bollinger midpoint and maintains its broader higher-high and higher-low structure, the current movement can still be viewed as consolidation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For another bullish breakout, buyers first need to reclaim approximately $84.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next major hurdle is the all-time high at $86.71.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A convincing daily close above that level could push HYPE back into price discovery and bring the psychological $90 level into focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond $90, the upper Bollinger Band near $94.80 becomes an important technical target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That makes the $94\u2013$95 region a possible upside objective if bullish momentum returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Bollinger Bands are dynamic indicators, meaning the exact resistance level will change as market volatility develops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Liquidation data also shows why the current price range is particularly important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major leveraged positions are concentrated both above and below HYPE’s current market price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the downside, one of the strongest liquidity clusters sits around $79.70\u2013$80. This area is close to the 4-hour Supertrend support and could become a major battleground if HYPE falls below $81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additional liquidity around $79.30 and $78.20 makes the broader $78\u2013$80 range particularly important for bulls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If that zone breaks decisively, long liquidations could increase selling pressure and potentially accelerate a deeper correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the upside, significant liquidity is concentrated around $84.70\u2013$85, with additional positions appearing between approximately $83.80 and $84.30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This leaves Hyperliquid price positioned between two major liquidity zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A move below $80 could trigger downside volatility, while a strong recovery toward $85 could put the record high back within reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond technical indicators, Hyperliquid’s ecosystem is also pursuing potential opportunities in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Hyperliquid Policy Center and tradeXYZ have approached US regulators about establishing a regulatory pathway for perpetual contracts linked to pre-IPO companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their submission to the Securities and Exchange Commission included information from five completed pre-IPO markets and outlined regulatory questions that would need to be addressed before similar products could potentially become available to US users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the proposal should not be interpreted as regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SEC has not announced a deadline for responding, and Hyperliquid’s platform currently does not allow US users to participate directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, any potential regulatory impact remains a longer-term consideration rather than an immediate catalyst for HYPE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For now, the $78\u2013$80 region remains the most important short-term support zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Holding above this area would keep the broader bullish structure intact and give buyers another opportunity to challenge $85 and the $86.71 all-time high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A confirmed breakout above $86.71 could open the door toward $90 and eventually the $94\u2013$95 region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, losing the $78\u2013$80 support area could increase short-term selling pressure. A daily close below the Bollinger midpoint near $74.36 would represent a more significant warning that the broader bullish structure is weakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With HYPE trading close to record territory, the next decisive move between support near $80 and resistance around $87 could determine whether Hyperliquid enters another phase of price discovery or experiences a deeper correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
