class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many autonomous payments remain extremely small, and some activity may be associated with experimentation rather than mature commercial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the agent economy to become a major payments market, developers will need to create services that generate recurring real-world demand rather than simply demonstrating that automated payments are technically possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cross-Border Payments Remain a Bigger Opportunity Today<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although AI agent payments represent an emerging opportunity, Circle&#8217;s existing growth strategy extends far beyond autonomous software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allaire has also identified cross-border transfers, capital markets, and retail commerce as major areas for USDC adoption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p with Nium provides access to local-currency payouts in more than 190 countries and supports around 100 currencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The model aims to use blockchain settlement behind the scenes while allowing recipients to receive funds through familiar local payment methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Circle Is Also Testing USDC for Retail class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Circle&#8217;s wider USDC business continued to expand during the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company reported $73.3 billion of USDC in circulation at the end of the quarter, representing a 19% increase from the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On-chain USDC transaction volume reached approximately $14.8 trillion during the quarter, rising 151% year over year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those figures should not be interpreted as payment volume alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total includes cryptocurrency trading, wallet transfers, decentralized finance transactions, settlement activity, and other movements of USDC across blockchains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Circle also reported around seven million \u201cmeaningful wallets,\u201d which it defines as wallets holding more than $10 in USDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures indicate growing stablecoin activity, although only part of that usage is directly related to commerce or AI-agent payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Arc Mainnet Could Expand Circle&#8217;s Agent Finance Strategy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Circle&#8217;s next major infrastructure milestone is the public launch of its Arc blockchain mainnet, scheduled for Sept. 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company says Arc will include tools for programmable finance, tokenized assets, privacy features, and AI-agent financial activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Launching its own blockchain could give Circle more control over
