South Korean media company K Wave Media<\/strong> has officially exited its Bitcoin treasury strategy, selling all of its remaining Bitcoin holdings less than a year after unveiling an ambitious plan to accumulate 10,000 BTC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nasdaq-listed company confirmed that it has liquidated its entire Bitcoin reserve to repay debt and is now shifting its attention toward artificial intelligence infrastructure, marking a dramatic change in corporate strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K Wave sells remaining Bitcoin to reduce debt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to a filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 30, K Wave Media sold its remaining 88 Bitcoin<\/strong> and used the proceeds to repay $6 million<\/strong> in outstanding debt tied to its financing agreement with Anson Funds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The filing also revealed that the company completed the Bitcoin sale on May 6<\/strong>, leaving its treasury with zero BTC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although K Wave stated that it has not permanently abandoned the idea of holding Bitcoin, it has officially paused its treasury strategy while it redirects capital toward new business opportunities in artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a 10,000 BTC ambition to zero holdings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The latest move represents a remarkable turnaround from the company’s announcement in July 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, K Wave positioned itself as one of South Korea’s first publicly listed media companies to adopt a Bitcoin treasury strategy. The company said it had secured access to up to $1 billion in financing<\/strong>, including a $500 million convertible note agreement with Anson Funds<\/strong> and another $500 million standby equity purchase facility<\/strong> through Bitcoin Strategic Reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following its initial purchase of 88 BTC<\/strong>, CEO Ted Kim<\/strong> outlined an ambitious goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    K Wave’s strategic pivot comes as the company faces additional challenges in the public markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    According to the SEC filing, Nasdaq notified the company in January that it had fallen below the exchange’s $1 minimum bid price requirement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
