The development was announced by Taiwanese legislator Dr. Ko Ju-chun<\/strong>, who said the government has committed to evaluating Bitcoin\u2019s potential role in the national reserve portfolio. Ko added that officials also plan to draft \u201cBitcoin-friendly regulations\u201d within the next six months and begin shaping a BTC treasury strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ko explained that the initiative is supported by JAN3<\/strong>, a global Bitcoin technology company led by CEO Samson Mow<\/strong>. He publicly called on the global Bitcoin community to support Taiwan\u2019s efforts toward becoming a regional BTC hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Currently, Taiwan\u2019s reserve holdings include 432 tons of gold<\/strong> and approximately $577 billion in foreign currency<\/strong>, with about 92% of its reserves invested in U.S. Treasury bonds<\/strong>.
