But according to <strong>DefiLlama<\/strong>, things have changed fast: by <strong>July 28<\/strong>, daily revenue dropped to just <strong>$297,000<\/strong>, one of its lowest since <strong>September 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the numbers have ticked up slightly since, it\u2019s clear the platform is in a <strong>downtrend<\/strong> and the reasons go deeper than just short-term volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Behind Pump.fun\u2019s Struggles?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Legal Woes Are Piling Up<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A major weight dragging Pump.fun down is a growing list of legal challenges. A <strong>class-action lawsuit<\/strong>, first filed in January and updated this month, claims the platform is running a <strong>fraudulent scheme<\/strong> accusing it of rigging token launches and profiting from insider trades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worse still, new allegations have surfaced involving <strong>wire fraud<\/strong> and <strong>racketeering<\/strong>, making this more than just a regulatory slap on the wrist. The case, filed in New York, has added serious pressure and may be spooking both users and developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Traders Are Jumping Ship<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>trader interest is shifting<\/strong> fast. The once-dominant platform is losing ground to new competitors like <strong>LetsBonk<\/strong>, a Solana-based launchpad that made its debut in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past month alone, Pump.fun\u2019s share of token launches on Solana has dropped by nearly <strong>70%<\/strong>, according to <strong>Dune Analytics<\/strong>. And in the last 24 hours, LetsBonk recorded <strong>nearly 20,000 token launches<\/strong>more than four times what Pump.fun pulled off, at just over <strong>4,600<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>The PUMP Token Isn\u2019t Helping<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Pump.fun\u2019s own native token, <strong>PUMP<\/strong>, hasn\u2019t exactly lived up to its name. After a brief rally post-launch, the token has <strong>plunged 30% this week<\/strong> and is <strong>down 59% over the past month<\/strong>. Traders aren\u2019t impressed and it\u2019s showing in their activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shrinking User Base and Mounting Losses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The user base is shrinking, too. In January, active addresses on Pump.fun peaked at <strong>425,000<\/strong>. Today? That number is down to just <strong>65,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even more alarming: a report from <strong>crypto.news<\/strong> in June revealed that <strong>over 60% of traders on the platform are losing money<\/strong>. Of the 2.4 million wallets analyzed over six months, most were down at least <strong>$1,000<\/strong>. Around <strong>30,000 wallets lost between $10K\u2013$100K<\/strong>, and <strong>46 wallets<\/strong> were hit with losses <strong>over $1 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is This the End of the Pump?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pump.fun isn\u2019t dead but it\u2019s definitely wounded. With lawsuits piling up, traders moving on, and confidence shaken, the platform\u2019s future looks uncertain.
